I did it!

Mike has been bugging me for-e-v-e-r about watching Lord of the Rings, and as of last night I finally finished all three. It only took me a month of successive nights, watching 30-minute clips on a regular basis, and fast forwarding through all of the battle and scary scenes to accomplish this feat. Nonetheless, I did it. I can officially talk the fellowship, freaky creature, strange named people talk! I feel like a new woman.

Little Eli

Elias William Clark was born at 4:25pm this afternoon. He weighed 6 lbs, 2 oz and is 18” tall (or maybe I should say 18" long since he’s not necessarily standing vertically yet).

Random Things...

My best and oldest childhood friend (Missy MacKenzie Clark) is having a baby on Thursday. She is being induced – is that the appropriate way to say it? The whole thing has flown by (referring to her pregnancy, but applies to life too). Look for an update soon. Auntie Ashlie here I come!

Mike and I move to Cali in 12 days. Holy cow! I think my mood transitions from being nervous, to excited, to overwhelmed, to sad, back to excited by the hour.

The PA primary is tomorrow. Go O!

I was meeting with a team in Richmond, VA on Friday. One of their directors had just gotten out of surgery so I wanted to pick up a little something for her on my way in… I programmed my GPS to pull up “Delis and Cafes” close to our meeting. A long list came up, some of which were generic (Panera-type options) and others were less familiar. For some ridiculous reason, I decided to go with an unknown but seemingly cute place called PaperMoon. Next thing I know I am pulling in a parking lot and outside walking in circles around this building – looking for PaperMoon “Café.” Did I miss a memo that café is now synonymous with strip club? What??? I literally RAN back to my car and flew out of the parking lot.

A pic of my sister and Reid - her new boy. P.S. Don’t tell her I put this on here. She’ll kill me :)

Dance of the Decades

We threw back to the 70's this weekend at Greensboro's Dance of the Decades. As you will see, the costumes and company encouraged some quite hilarious moments...

When Mike saw Kevin Corcoran he was thoroughly disappointed he did not have a fro of his own! Sara, I can't say that I envied your hair in quite the same way... That piece looked hot and we definitely got a good laugh out of the blonde "roots" that kept emerging from underneath.

My JLG girls.

Do not be fooled, The Billings, Leslie and Melissa are in costume. I think 2007 was their year of choice...

Mike's blue bell-bottom pants were so tight I had to put his socks and (platform) shoes on; poor thing could not even bend over. (To my UVA friends, does this look remind you of anyone??? JJ Kasper maybe...)
P.S. I know my dress was extremely short. Please note that I do have shorts on underneath!

Sara had to keep close reign over her husband Joe. Let’s just say he was being pursued by another “partygoer.”

Subsequently, she turned to Krispy Kreme to solve her lover woes.

The guys had to tag-team Madam Billings… Even Presidents need a little rowdy behavior once in a while.

Can you see the joy in their eyes… Whoever said dressing up is for little girls?

Hmmmm...

The room key from our hotel in Orlando... Does it strike anyone else as a little odd?
